Lactalis US Yogurt is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our weekend day shift team in Brattleboro, VT.   • Maintains accurate training records and ensures growth of knowledge of staff through cross-training and refresher training.
  • Drives accountability for production KPIs by coaching and engaging employees in process improvement initiatives.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments to machines.
  • Coordinates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for job assignments.
  • Engages in employee training evaluations to ensure proper training is provided for each new employee.
  • Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Maintains time and production records as required.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Maintenance and QA to ensure new products and processes meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Provides supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities.
  • Engages in semi-annual performance reviews with direct reports and provides actionable feedback.
  • Trains and instructs employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes.
  • Follows appropriate escalation procedures for production, quality, personnel, and safety issues.
  • Leads by example with the CWD "Code of Quality".
  • Takes ownership of the shift and makes sound decisions to support safety, quality, and production goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or HS/GED and minimum of 2 years plant supervisory experience.
  • 2 years' experience with food manufacturing. Dairy production a plus.
  • Experience with SQF or BRC audits preferred
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.

We are seeking an experienced Leader for our weekend day shift Production team. The Production Supervisor directly supervises production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas.

Schedule

Saturday & Sunday: 6:00am-6:00pm

Mon & Tues 7am-3pm

Key responsibilities for this position include:

+ The Production Supervisor directly manages filler and packaging side employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws while following all CI processes and the Management Operating Structure

+ Fosters a productivity mindset by utilizing basic Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

+ Maintains accurate training records while maintaining growth of knowledge of staff through cross-training and refresher training.

+ Drives accountability for production KPIs by coaching and engaging employees in process improvement initiatives.

+ Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments to machines.

+ Coordinates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.

+ Evaluates needs in production for daily assignment of duties; establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

+ Engages in employee training evaluations to ensure proper training is being provided for each new employee.

+ Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

+ Maintains time and production records as required, i.e. payroll time approval and daily production reporting, safety incident reporting, etc.

+ Collaborates cross-functionally with Maintenance and QA to ensure new products and processes meet safety, quality, and production goals.

+ Provides supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management.

+ Engages in semi-annual performance reviews with direct reports and provides actionable feedback.

+ Trains and instructs employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes. Oversees instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.

+ Follows appropriate escalation procedures for production, quality, personnel, and safety issues

+ Leads by example with the CWD "Code of Quality". This includes following Company policies, standards, and specifications.

+ Takes ownership of the shift and makes sound decisions to support safety, quality, and production goals.
