The Design Engineer at Indotronix Avani Group will support military and commercial propeller platforms through all phases of the design cycle, from concept and optimization to manufacturing and operational service. Responsibilities

  • Supporting military and commercial propeller platforms across all phases of the design cycle, including concept & optimization, preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing, and operational service.
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Support manufacturing with non-conformances and troubleshooting assembly/testing issues.
  • Generate reports for engineering work performed based on analysis and test activities.
  • Interact with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in internal and external product design engineering teams and reviews.
  • Coordinate and work regularly with engineering in both Windsor Locks, CT and Figeac, France as well as MRO’s and program office.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required to support maintainers, suppliers, customers, and aircraft operators.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Preferred

  • Aerospace experience
  • Project engineering experience
  • Experience providing manufacturing support and/or in-service engineering support for maintenance activities
  • Experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics or similar CAD software
  • Experience with designing mechanical assemblies with standard parts (seals, screws, bearings, plugs and pins)
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T dimensioning and tolerancing)
  • Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity or competency with Finite Element Analysis
  • Ability to present to customers, operators, and at various levels of leadership internally & externally
