The Science Teacher at Lad Lake Inc is responsible for providing educational services through creative, caring, integrated methods that maximize students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.   • Plan instructional programs to meet individual student needs and whole groups, which may include vulnerable or special-needs youth.
  • Develop a culturally sensitive curriculum.
  • Prepares lesson plans.
  • Participates in developing and monitoring student education plans.
  • Uses necessary and appropriate instructional methods and materials suited to the student's well-being and the nature of the learning activities.
  • Establishes and implements classroom policies and procedures governing student behavior and conduct in a positive and supportive manner; provides guidance, counseling, and discipline to encourage students to meet standards of achievement and conduct; and makes referrals for assistance where appropriate.
  • Confers with students, parents or guardians, and other staff, maintaining an open positive relationship to provide guidance and evaluation and encourage student achievement.
  • Maintains up-to-date grades and student academic evaluations
  • Ensure that performance management, risk reduction, quality improvement, and contract or regulatory compliance are managed using an inclusive and data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned with ongoing strategic initiatives and has a measurable impact on outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Wisconsin teaching certificate
  • Licensed Areas: Science
  • Previous experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disabled (EBD) students or at-risk adolescent populations.
  • 2 to 3 years of successful classroom behavior management experience.
  • Must deal with students positively and confidently; be equitable when working with a culturally, racially, and economically diverse student population.
  • Able to adapt to change, be flexible, and be confident.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, effective behavior management techniques, and exhibit good judgment.
