Preferred Employment and Living Supports is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional - Job Coach for a position located in Holland. Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality and consumer rights throughout all activities and assignments.
- Respect the individual dignity, rights, and privacy of each client.
- Develop positive rapport with assigned consumers by learning about their interests, skills, and abilities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, with a focus on advocacy, respect and demonstrating a strong work ethic
- Track individual consumer productivity and maintain documentation
- Prepare workspace for consumers
- Verify consumer completed work to specifications
- Monitor consumer production techniques for adherence to established work instructions
- Maintain a working knowledge of all products and work instructions in order to train consumers
- Develop and complete task analysis, training plans, and job coaching reports accurately and timely.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and co-workers to assure support of client/employee
- Communicate in a professional, timely manner all information, concerns, and emergencies to team members.
- Attendance and participation in all assigned training, and team meetings as requested.
- Creatively problem-solve, prioritize and plan with the team to assure follow-through of schedules.
- Complete necessary and required paperwork.
- Follow established policies and procedures related to the assigned task
- Support individuals in the Muskegon and Grand Haven areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience and understanding of people who have developmental/behavioral issues
- Keen eye for detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
- High school diploma / Equivalent.
- Clear criminal record.
- Ability to learn and pass all required training.
- TB Test.
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing
- Experience in job coaching
