  • Prepare trimester and annual progress reports.
  • Complete student IEPs, including present levels of performance, goals and classroom accommodations using Frontline IEP (formerly IEP Direct).
  • Collect and record data regarding student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology as needed to address student needs.
  • Participate in Instructional Support Team (IST) meetings to provide pre-referral strategies and interventions to support students in general education settings.
  • Address student social-emotional needs using positive behavior supports.
  • Use a variety of interventions to support progress towards goals before considering more restrictive placements.
  • Implement data-driven interventions to address gaps in learning due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Demonstrate a reflective mindset towards his/her instructional practice.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and support staff to address the behavioral management needs of students.

Required

  • Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification in Elementary Special Education

Preferred

  • Bilingual candidates and candidates possessing TESOL certification
  • Candidates possessing or working towards certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)/Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
