The Facility and Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and appearance of the manufacturing facility, grounds, and infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of minor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain facility lighting, doors, windows, and other structural components.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment.
- Maintain the landscaping around the facility, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and other lawn care activities.
- Ensure sidewalks, parking lots, and driveways are clean, safe, and free of debris or obstructions.
- Manage snow removal, de-icing, and other seasonal grounds care activities.
- Inspect and repair fences, gates, and other outdoor structures as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility and grounds to ensure safety standards are met.
- Identify and address any potential safety hazards promptly.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and reports.
- Assist in facility improvement projects as needed, including painting, carpentry, and basic construction tasks.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure the facility supports production goals.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facility and grounds maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems a plus
- Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, snow removal tools, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills for reporting and tracking maintenance activities
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions
Preferred
- Technical or vocational training in a related field
