Staff Accountant

Description

We are on the lookout for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Irving, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, processing transactions, and ensuring the company's financial records are accurate. This role is critical to the efficient operation of our financial department and requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

- Execute general ledger operations and journal entries

- Conduct monthly and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

- Analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices

- Oversee inventory requests and maintain appropriate records

- Utilize accounting software, specifically SAP, to organize financial data

- Apply advanced Excel skills for data management and financial analysis

- Resolve financial discrepancies by analyzing account information

- Regularly review systems and make updates and improvements where necessary

- Coordinate with the team to complete the necessary bookkeeping tasks

- Process customer credit applications accurately and maintain customer credit records.

Requirements - Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field.

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation is required.

- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Experience with accounting software is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
