Job Definition:

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for execution of inventory strategies within BDI’s facilities to optimize risk management and capital allocation. The Supply Chain Planner will coordinate with key business partners to ensure seamless transactions and streamline business processes.Work within BDI’s ERP system (SAP) and utilize internal tools to review and ensure accuracy of data.

Responsibilities:

• Field requests from branches and suppliers, such as return requests or inventory assistance, and determine best disposition option based on guidelines provided.
• Update material master data with relevant information for purchasing and supply chain consumption.
• Review reports and tools within BDI’s systems for supply chain and inventory management, mitigating risk and ensuring availability of product for branches and customers.
• Assist branches with inventory decisions and create actionable files for implementing inventory strategies.
• Utilize BDI’s SAP system for direction on exceptions, cancelation requirements, expedite requirements, and potential high impact products.
• Participate in quarterly inventory reviews and strategic planning for future forecasting.
• Generate actionable reports for management to facilitate decisions and strategies.
• Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain (or related field) or a minimum of 2 years of experience in operations or supply chain.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and improve upon processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
