The Supply Chain Planner at Bearing Distributors Inc. (BDI) is responsible for executing inventory strategies within BDI’s facilities to optimize risk management and capital allocation.   • Field requests from branches and suppliers, such as return requests or inventory assistance, and determine best disposition option based on guidelines provided.
  • Update material master data with relevant information for purchasing and supply chain consumption.
  • Review reports and tools within BDI’s systems for supply chain and inventory management, mitigating risk and ensuring availability of product for branches and customers.
  • Assist branches with inventory decisions and create actionable files for implementing inventory strategies.
  • Utilize BDI’s SAP system for direction on exceptions, cancelation requirements, expedite requirements, and potential high impact products.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory reviews and strategic planning for future forecasting.
  • Generate actionable reports for management to facilitate decisions and strategies.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain (or related field) or a minimum of 2 years of experience in operations or supply chain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and improve upon processes.

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
