  • Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Review inputted estimate takeoff information in CATO for specific disciplines.
  • Review historic benchmark cost information and highlight variances.
  • Work with architects and engineers to develop a clear understanding of the project scope.
  • Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
  • Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Ability to pass a security review with TSA
  • College degree in a related field
  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) experience
  • Supervisory skills
  • Relationship-building with A/E firms and project team members

Full Job Description

Actalent is hiring a Estimator to support a project with MWA/TSA at Washington Dulles International Airport. The project consists of building baggage and x-ray machines and ranges from $150-$650 million in size.

Job Description

+ Prepare cost estimates for various estimate disciplines and provides guidance to junior staff.

+ Complete pricing and cost benchmarking validations, and provide specialty cost intelligence deliverables.

+ Utilize industry experience to develop cost estimates reflective of local market and project conditions.

+ Examine blueprints and other documents and prepare detailed cost estimates.

+ Perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.

+ Supervise the development of conceptual and feasibility cost model estimates utilizing historic benchmarking information and industry experience in order to develop complete early-stage cost estimate forecasting.

+ Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc.

+ Review inputted estimate takeoff information in CATO for specific disciplines in order to provide a check to assess accuracy and suitability for project type and specific project requirements.

+ Review historic benchmark cost information and highlight variances.

+ Work with architects and engineers to develop a clear understanding of the project scope during preparation of the estimate.

+ Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.

+ Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers.

Skills/Qualifications

+ 10-15 years of experience

+ Must be able to pass a security review with TSA

+ Must have a college degree in a related field

+ MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) experience

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Dulles, VA and some days remote.
