Qualifications

Required

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Hospital experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Master's degree.

Professional Summary:

  • The Associate Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, JMH.
  • The position is responsible for providing administrative oversight, planning, organizing, and leadership for all aspects of the ancillary operations including clinical, financial, environmental management, daily operations and patient experience.
  • Partners with hospital executive/senior leadership team to ensure performance expectations are developed, tracked and achieved.
  • The incumbent attends executive meetings and is involved directly or indirectly in the decision making process around confidential executive decisions.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provides a leadership framework for planning, directing, coordinating, and improving ancillary services that are responsive to the needs of stakeholders including physicians, patients, families, employees, union partners, payers, and relevant agencies.
  • Develops operational and financial performance metrics by efficient utilization of resources of assigned area.
  • Partners with hospital senior leadership team for successful deployment, growth initiatives, service, quality and financial sustainability of ancillary operations in assigned areas.
  • Communicates issues identified by leadership team and front line staff related to initiatives. Recommends improvements to hospital facilities and services including new program development, construction and purchase of capital equipment.
  • Supports, executes, and monitors Process Improvement projects to drive enhanced business results. Facilitates timely, effective communication and collaboration among departments.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of developments affecting divisional operations in local, state and federal legislation.
  • Manages single professional practice standards for JHS.
  • ·Informs the COO on the status of operations and provide support in developing and implementing long-range strategic and cooperation plans which support the JHS philosophy and mission statement. Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Undertake special projects at the request of the Chief Executive Officer. Attracts, develops, engages and retains strong talent to achieve business results.
  • The leader understands and adheres to JHS compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct, Compliance Policies, and all other JHS Policies and Procedures and supports the commitment of JHS in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for health care providers by demonstrating knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family and organization information.
  • The leader further understands that JHS is committed to its role in preventing health care fraud and abuse and complying with applicable state and federal laws related to health care fraud and abuse.
  • This commitment is supported and enabled through an anonymous hotline which serves as one of several mechanisms for reporting suspected fraud, waste and/or abuse, as well as other compliance related issues.
  • The leader to report through any of the reporting mechanisms (e.g., anonymous hotline, supervisor, Compliance Officer) any suspected health care fraud, waste and/or abuse as well as other compliance-related issues.

Required Experience:


  • Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required. Hospital experience highly preferred.


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree is required.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
