Associate Attorney

We are seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney with approximately two to five years of experience to become part of our team! You will represent clients in court at trial and mediation, draft legal documents and advise clients on complex domestic and family law cases. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in dealing with complex custody cases and property division. You will be in the courtroom immediately!

We are a small firm that strongly believes in quality of representation over quantity, and that one of the most important factors of success in a family law case is the ability to build a strong relationship with the client. Salary based on experience. Possible additional benefits after 90-days.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court or before judges and jurors
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Advise clients on custodial rights
• Negotiate settlements for high asset divorces with children involved
• Comply with all legal standards and regulations
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law to include monthly billing
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in court proceedings
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other staff on complex cases
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation

​​Qualifications:

• Must have Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Must have passed the Georgia Bar and Be Sworn to Practice in Georgia
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have 2 to 5 years of previous experience in domestic litigation including negotiating and litigating cases
• Familiarity with various legal documents
