  • Overseeing inquiries from physicians, hospital discharge planners, etc. and respond to all referrals within 15 minutes of receipt
  • Ensuring all new admissions to the facility have proper documentation discharge summary, therapy notes, nursing notes, and medication list
  • Keeping updated with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission and discharge requirements
  • Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Protecting each patient/resident file and data with confidentiality per HIPAA standards
  • Abiding with all facility policies and procedures

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of your job position is to develop, coordinate, and implement a marketing plan with clear objectives based on the facility's strengths and meet and exceed the monthly goals of increasing facility census with appropriate ratio mix of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care and private payer in accordance with current federal, state and local guidelines that govern the facility and as directed by management and/or the Administrator.

The Marketer will treat each patient fairly, kindly, and show them dignity and respect. They will refer to each patient by their name. They will communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively when speaking to patients, family members, visitors, all staff and governmental agencies. They will work cooperatively with the facility multidisciplinary team to determine if potential patients meet facility acuity and financial requirements. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborating with the Administrator to ensure census goals

Assessing potential patients in the local hospitals and answering their questions about the facility

Maintaining a database of physician and case manager contacts and profiles

Participating in local community events to promote visibility and increase facility's census

For PDPM compliance, ensuring all new admissions to the facility have proper documentation discharge summary, therapy notes, nursing notes, and medication list

Keeping updated with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission and discharge requirements

Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately

Protecting each patients/residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards

Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords

REQUIREMENTS

Education / Licensure

Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred

Qualifications/ Experience

Minimum of 2 - 5 years of sales/marketing/admissions experience in healthcare

Persuasive ability communicating in English both verbal and written

Charismatic at delivering marketing presentations to individuals or groups

Ability to work knowledgeable with acute case managers, social workers and physicians

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Must be accurate with details regarding residents medical records

Working Conditions

Driving several times a week to various marketing appointments at physician's offices, hospitals, etc.

Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility

May encounter frequent interruptions

May be involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances

May be requested to work beyond normal working hours at times

Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)

May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day

Must be able to lift, bend/twist, stack, carry and file up to 25 lbs. of packets, pamphlets and admissions folders Ability to read fine print on tablet, reports or in marketing materials
