Join the Recruiting Team of the Office of People and Culture at Samuel Merritt University (SMU) to collaborate with internal stakeholders to address their unique staffing needs, from recruiting intake and strategy design to offer negotiations and onboarding.   • Maintaining ATS data integrity and accuracy and leveraging available information to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Serving as a point of contact to our internal clients to assess their evolving hiring needs, provide guidance and foster equitable, inclusive, and compliant hiring practices.
  • Finding ways to address operational problems and to achieve strategic, long-term recruiting goals.
  • Promoting SMU externally through effective use of professional social media channels, career events and networking activities.
  • Providing an excellent recruiting experience to all candidates and hiring managers.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Baccalaureate or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting
  • Experience in developing and implementing recruiting strategies
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and advising them on talent acquisition and hiring

Preferred

  • Experience in sourcing and long-term talent engagement
  • Experience in using Workday as an Applicant Tracking System
  • Experience in recruiting for a higher ed institution
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, and great attention to detail
  • Strong bias-to-action and motivation to address problems and advise stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
  • Experience in deploying practices and initiatives advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of recruiting methods, practices, and relevant laws and regulations

This is a hybrid role with a requirement to work on-site (Oakland, CA) at least once a week.

Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
