DescriptionCal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment ServicesANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCYSUMMARY: Currently searching for two Student Research Assistants to work in the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department, College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. S. Chantal E. Stieber, Principal Investigator.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):- Will perform scientific experiments to study C-F activation with first row transition metals.
- Will use organic and inorganic synthetic techniques to make ligands and complexes.
- Will characterize ligands and complexes using techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, EPR, X-ray crystallography, and UV-vis spectroscopy, for example.
- Will also search the literature, write research reports, and characterize complexes.
- Proper laboratory safety training, documentation and presentations are also required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Cal Poly Pomona student with background in general chemistry (CHM 1210 or equivalent).
