As a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead process engineering, engineering services teams to support business growth through New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, improve material productivity, and provide cost-effective solutions through multi-functional partnership.   • Collaborate with the Process Development group and other production personnel to develop improved processes and tooling.
  • Apply expertise and leadership to develop the team and work with suppliers to address technical challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop team members.
  • Ensure robust validation processes are in place and adhered to.
  • Drive design for manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure ease of manufacturing, cost-effectiveness, and high quality.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in global analytical instruments and/or medical device companies.
  • 5 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Solid understanding and expertise in analytical design and development.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other related process improvement tools.

Preferred

  • Experience with business transformation and organizational change related to automation.

Analyze technology trends and human resource needs to plan projects.• Lead all aspects of the transfer of new products into production. This includes ensuring the designs are manufacturable and have acceptable production yields. Work with Engineering to specify and procure capital equipment and fixturing.• Collaborate with the Process Development group and other production personnel to develop improved processes and tooling to reduce labor time and costs. This includes leading automation projects involving hardware and software.• Apply expertise and leadership to develop the team and work with suppliers to address technical challenges during projects.• Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop team members.
