Responsibilities

  • Ensure production schedules are communicated, tracked, and executed cost-effectively
  • Workforce planning and forecasting to ensure team needs are met
  • Organize relevant training programs for team skill development
  • Track time and attendance for all direct reports
  • Assist with area layout and flow management of the Spot Production area
  • Identify overhead expenses and cost-savings opportunities
  • Work closely with Fulfillment to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Ensure full compliance of company policies and procedures
  • Utilize Jira to track and coordinate resolution of all man, method, machine, and material issues
  • Coach, develop, and train team members on daily production needs
  • Ensure all safety and health standards are met in the production environment
  • Communicate weekly production status to stakeholders
  • Support team by creating and editing work orders
  • Support cross-functionally by troubleshooting and resolving issues within Salesforce
  • Ensure team executes work orders and other ERP transactions correctly and in a timely fashion
  • Supervise FAT, ensuring the correct process is followed from production, FAT, and repair
  • Coordinate with service for delivery of forecasted demand
  • Support NPI by helping coordinate events and ensure production plans are maintained
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and high standards

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of previous work experience in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of theory of constraints
  • Previous experience supervising technician level employees
  • Experience in operations management
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)

As the Production Supervisor, you will join the Operations team to support the deployment and manufacturing of our Spot robot fleet. You will lead a team of roughly 15-20 employees in a fast pace and dynamic environment to ensure products meet contractual quality, cost, and delivery requirements by planning, organizing, and directing the flow of production. You will be responsible for a safe work environment and will actively lead and engage in safety improvement projects. Every day, you will work cross functionally with other teams to meet organizational goals by achieving/exceeding goals for cost, quality, delivery, and safety. You must be able to Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using shop floor fundamentals as a common denominator under lean methodologies. To be successful in this role, you must support deployment of manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of failure modes, production capacity, quality and staffing issues and develop/implement corrective action plans. ​Boston Dynamics is a world leader in mobile robots, tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges.
