We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in San Diego, California. This role involves overseeing the accounting operations, providing insights into investment performance, and acting as a key business partner for senior management and portfolio managers. The position includes designing and implementing processes to optimize investment operations, developing accounting policies, overseeing the development of investment-related reports, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the investment accounting team's processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement processes to optimize investment operations, leveraging the company's technology investments.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and processes for our investment portfolio.
  • Oversee the development of reports related to investment holdings and performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the investment accounting team's processes and follow up on these opportunities.
  • Oversee the monthly financial close, including review of activity in the investment subledger, key reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of key investment activity, including purchases, sales, interest accruals, and capital transactions.
  • Provide direction to members of the Investment Accounting team to ensure the efficient execution of trading activity and cash management.
  • Execute performance management for direct reports, providing coaching, feedback, and aiding in development planning.
  • Participate in projects and the implementation of new systems as necessary, identifying technological transformational opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • Implement policies and procedures to maintain project workflow standards, interfacing with department managers, vendors, and IT project managers.
  • Directly supervise two or more employees within the Accounting team, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
  • Proficiency in using BlackLine and Concur software
  • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Ability to handle all Accounting Functions
  • Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience in Auditing
  • Ability to manage Billing Functions effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

Description We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in San Diego, California. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be expected to oversee the accounting operations and provide insights into investment performance and capital market activity, making this role a key business partner for senior management and portfolio managers.

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement processes to optimize investment operations, leveraging the company's technology investments.

- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and processes for our investment portfolio.
