**JOB PURPOSE:**

The Hoover Institution is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Systems and Business Operations Manager to lead the implementation and/or integration of new systems, improved processes, and manage organizational change within and outside the finance team. They will be responsible for leading a team of two associates. This role is critical in driving efficiency, improving financial and operational workflows, and ensuring the successful adoption of new technologies and methodologies for finance across the organization. The ideal candidate is a successful leader, influencer, and strong collaborator with knowledge of Stanford's systems and processes, including month-end and year-end close processes, Oracle Financials, OBI and other ERP systems. Under the leadership of the CFO for the Hoover Institution, the Financial Systems and Business Operations Manager will lead efforts related to the following key responsibilities:

**CORE DUTIES:**

+ Systems Implementation: leveraging Stanford ERP, lead implementation of an expanded and meaningful Chart of Accounts as the foundational data structure to streamline the tracking of revenues and expenses at the Hoover Institution.

+ Partner with Financial Management Services, University Budget Office, and other Stanford central offices.

+ Change Management: Design and lead the execution of change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions to new systems and processes. Engage with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate buy-in, training, and ongoing support.

+ Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to monitor KPIs related to systems and processes and empower key business partners by providing feedback via the use of key reports.

+ Provide regular updates to senior management on key metrics, project progress, and areas for further optimization with the end goal maximizing organizational excellence.

+ Training and Support: Develop training programs and materials to ensure staff and Hoover Fellows have the financial tools and resources they need to be effective financial stewards while reducing administrative burden. Implement a model for client support and troubleshooting to ensure long-term success.

+ Direct staff and provide leadership to achieve goals and vision of the organization and the day-to-day operations. Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, professional development and accountable for the performance of employees.

+ May independently or in collaboration with human resources managers, guide supervisors in the interpretation and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and programs.

+ Develop and implement strategic plan(s) for functional area(s) managed; Provide strategy, vision and direction. Make decisions that establish objectives for the overall direction or operation of a significant organization. Influence leadership on specific recommendations for current operations and future development. May develop multi-year business plans. Oversee allocation of all resources.

+ Interpret, implement and ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures. Recommend and/or formulate internal administrative policies, guidelines and procedures. Direct process improvement for organization or program.

+ Represent the organization's business operations and administrative affairs within the organization, and/or outside constituencies. May represent the organization to external constituencies.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**

**Education & Experience:**

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.

The expected pay range for this position is $112,000-$185,000 per annum.
