The Teacher Assistant at Insight Global assists the teacher in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom, interacts with children in a developmentally appropriate manner, and assists in the development and implementation of individualized plans for children.   • Ensure the safety of all children by participating in monitoring of center, implementation of child safety procedures, reporting accidents, reporting child abuse or neglect, and reporting any child health/safety concern to supervisor.
  • Carry out administrative duties as delegated by the teacher.
  • Assume Teacher responsibilities in the absence of the Teacher.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate records or reports, including maintaining daily attendance record of children and managing records of classroom in-kind.
  • Participate in weekly Center staff meetings and all other meetings as requested.
  • Attend training and workshops.
  • Encourage and coordinate parent and volunteer involvement.
  • Accompany Teacher in making educational Home Visits and Parent/Teacher conferences as requested by Teacher.
  • Coordinate classroom volunteer program.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) or be currently enrolled in CDA program or be enrolled in early childhood coursework leading to an associate or bachelor degree.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Must have a car available on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.
