Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets, and other accounts as required.
  • Assist in the month-end close process by preparing accurate and well-supported monthly journal entries; analyze and investigate variances.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable aging reports, providing detailed commentary on outstanding and aged items.
  • Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.
  • Conduct reviews of invoices for a 3-way match with purchase orders; research and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, unit counts, and freight in coordination with the Warehouse and Pricing Departments.
  • Ensure all accounts payable documentation is attached to invoices, and that back-up materials are included with journal entries; maintain records electronically and in compliance with company retention policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate coding of transactions and invoices, and to resolve any accounting issues that arise.
  • Perform additional accounting and taxation tasks as needed.
  • Provide support to the CFO and Controller on special projects.
