Billing Clerk

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Billing and Collections Specialist in Northeast Houston. The position will involve various tasks related to customer service and billing, focusing mainly on the processing of customer payments, tracking account activity, and maintaining accurate records. The position is Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30pm and does require overtime.

Responsibilities:

- Reviewing and tracking customer accounts, specifically for partial payments, and working towards setting up payment arrangements for outstanding balances.

- Providing support for customer inquiries via phone and email.

- Generating and sending collection letters and emails to customers, ensuring all communication is accurately recorded on customer accounts.

- Processing payments and credit memos in a timely and accurate manner.

- Updating customer accounts with correct billing and address information.

- Regularly following up on overdue accounts and ensuring all received payments are correctly assigned to the correct account and invoice.

- Assisting in settling overdue accounts and managing accounts on credit holds due to non-payment.

- Providing excellent customer service by acting as an advocate for customers and responding effectively to inquiries.

- Responsible for invoicing tasks.

- Assisting with additional special projects as required.

Requirements

- Possess strong skills in billing and commercial collections

- Proficient in using computer software and applications related to billing and data entry

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

- High level of integrity and reliability
