  • 3+ years of experience with Project Management in a technical leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience with IP networking fundamentals.

Preferred

  • Experience/Education in Network Builds and DC infrastructure.
  • Background with high availability, very large scale networks and network design and architecture.

Amazon Web Services, Global Connectivity and Network Availability Deployment (GCNA-D) Team has a position open to manage the North/South America Technical Infrastructure Program Management Regional team.

The North/South America Manager, Infrastructure Technical Program Manager will lead a Team of TIPMs in planning where AWS grows by identifying data center expansion strategies. The manager will also develop plans, processes and roadmaps for the decommission of network and cloud service infrastructure. The manager will perform employee performance reviews, provide team development and make local hiring decisions.

Key job responsibilities

- Perform day to day management of a team of highly skilled Technical Infrastructure Program Managers (TIPMs).

- Partner with peer leaders to create a lifecycle approach to healthy data center rack/space/power/cooling and infrastructure decommissioning efforts.

A day in the life

A typical day for the TIPM Manager would start with a projects review session with the team, reviewing this week's risks and issues and assessing how they may impact estimated delivery dates.

Aggregating those data points the following sync session would be held with engineering resources to ensure alignment with current project schedules. Highlighting potential resource constraints or technical blockers.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $254,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
