The Leahy Institute brings financial and technical assistance, access to UVM research, faculty expertise, student projects and internships, and established UVM startup and engagement programs. Together, we will collaborate on impactful solutions that drive positive change for Vermont and beyond.

The Communications Coordinator for the Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships will communicate about the work and impact of the Office of Engagement to national and regional media and to UVM and community partners. Responsible for planning and executing strategies to reach audiences via web, social media platforms, and email communications. At the direction of the Director of the Office of Engagement, collaborate on department projects with staff on reports for Leahy Institute audiences. Plan and implement marketing strategies to promote participation in Office events and programs.

Functions include:

+ Identifying and producing multimedia stories and content for key audiences (faculty, community members, journalists, economic development stakeholders, national rural development consortia)

+ Manage and develop Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships channels (web, social, email)

+ Produce regular reports for Leahy Institute audiences.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor's degree. Three to four years of professional communications experience, with demonstrated experience in managing social media for an organization. Anticipated Pay Range $60,000-$68,000

Other Information

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Travel to and from worksites required, Background Check required for this position
