Sebris Busto James, a top-tier nationally ranked boutique labor and employment law firm in Bellevue, Washington, seeks an associate attorney with 4+ years of employment law litigation experience to add to our team. We seek a motivated individual who has advanced knowledge of state and federal employment laws, litigation tactics, and e-discovery, a strong work ethic, and a positive and collaborative attitude.

The successful candidate must:

  • Possess strong academic credentials
  • Have excellent writing skills
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of serving as second and eventually first chair in litigation
  • Be collegial and fun in the office, and professional and respected in the courtroom
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to employment litigation
  • Have taken depositions, argued motions, attended mediations, and helped prepare a case for trial
  • Have managed or played a significant role in e-discovery, including collection and production
  • Have the confidence, drive, and desire to grow a practice and develop the skills and reputation needed to achieve shareholder status
  • Be licensed to practice in good standing in Washington State
  • Be admitted to practice in the Western and/or Eastern District of Washington federal district courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Have interest or experience in collective bargaining and NLRB/PERC representation (preferred but not required)
