Carr & Duff is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented Director of Fleet to manage the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization’s fleet of motor vehicles. Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee vehicle fleet, including vehicle maintenance, scheduling of required service, registration and state inspections, and basic fleet operations.
  • Develop & effectively implement fleet and facilities management standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in adherence to the Safety Department, federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provide logistical support to field operations and project managers, as needed.
  • Oversee inventory control of fleet management, scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers.
  • Evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet.
  • Develop and maintain vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services.
  • Administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution.
  • Manage fleet expense reporting and budgets.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. in Business Administration or business-related experience preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibility
  • Experience in electrical construction industry preferred
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance, familiarity with construction tools, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations licensing, and registration in accordance to federal, state, and local laws
  • Ability to multi-task and develop effective relationships
  • Flexible and driven to meet quick deadlines, handle projects and prioritize them accordingly
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in overall performance
  • Extremely detail oriented and a willingness to dig in to find answers
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability required
  • Be a team player with good time management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

About the Position


We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented person to join our team as the Director of Fleet This position is responsible for managing the acquisition, operations and maintenance of the organization’s fleet of motor vehicles. This is a hands-on position and requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and work with all team members on various levels to ensure execution of the overall full life-cycle fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, reporting requirements, while managing subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Manage and oversee vehicle fleet, including vehicle maintenance, scheduling of required service, registration and state inspections, and basic fleet operations.
