  • Collaborate with the project manager to prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and drainage solutions in accordance with project goals, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and due diligence assessments under the guidance of the project manager to evaluate project constraints and opportunities.
  • Assist in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, landscape architects, and environmental consultants to integrate design elements and achieve project objectives.
  • Support the project manager in coordinating with local municipalities, agencies, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Provide assistance in providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members under the direction of the project manager, assisting in their professional development.
  • Aid in performing construction administration duties alongside the project manager, including reviewing contractor submittals, conducting site visits, and addressing field issues as they arise.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and correspondence, under the guidance of the project manager.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on residential land development projects in Southern California
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software
  • Strong understanding of local zoning ordinances, building codes, and land use regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines within budget constraints
