  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DOT regulations and review DOT roadside inspections.
  • Work with the Maintenance department to optimize equipment performance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Fleet management, customer service, extended coverage, load planning experience (2+ years)
  • Prioritized drivers’ schedules
  • Knowledge of DOT procedures and safety guidelines
  • Dispatch support software (McLeod) experience
  • Monitoring driver daily logs
  • Metrics measurements knowledge (i.e., on time performance, exception management, route optimization)
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)

Preferred

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, transportation, or related field

Full Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager of a regional dryvan truckload carrier.

The Fleet Manager is responsible for monitoring, dispatching, and planning. Responsible for daily driver updates and maintaining McLeod dispatch software. Communicates directly with the customer providing delays, service failures, issues that may arise, or any other details necessary regarding our service. Advocate for drivers. Manages driver utilization, service levels, and quality-of-life. Evaluates driver performance & supervises the fleet during shift. Holds drivers accountable to work assignments and follow through of dispatch. Understands and updates the current status of all drivers and their locations. Understands and has working knowledge of current hours of service guidelines and enforces compliance. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of DOT regulations and reviews DOT roadside inspections. Works with the Maintenance department to keep equipment moving and serviced at an optimal level of performance.
