The Night Shift Production Supervisor at Southwire Company is responsible for managing production, providing leadership to the manufacturing team, and facilitating the production process to ensure the achievement of all manufacturing objectives. Required

  • 3+ years of Operations/Production Supervision experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Lean or continuous improvement problem solving methodology experience desired.
  • Prior experience mentoring and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication and problem resolution skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications or advanced training.

Full Job Description

A leader in technology and innovation, Southwire Company, LLC is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers. Southwire and its subsidiaries manufacture building wire and cable, utility products, metal-clad cable, portable and electronic cord products, OEM wire products and engineered products.


Hours: 6:00p – 6:00a

Shift: Swing shift (2, 2, 3 model)

Direct reports: 10-15 team members


Night Shift Production Supervisor Job Description

  • Manage production, provide leadership to the manufacturing team, and facilitate the production process to ensure the achievement of all manufacturing objectives.
  • Work with the Leads, team members, and other members of management in their facility to oversee the production floor, manage the human capital plan, drive operational excellence, and direct capacity management.
  • Be a hands-on leader and spend 60-70% of time on the production floor
  • Mentor and develop team members



Key Responsibilities

Safety Management

  • Promote a Culture of Zero by continuously monitoring safety rules and requirements • Lead the completion of Incident Investigations at the event's time, including root cause and corrective action. Responsibility to escalate.
  • When necessary, complete risk assessments and hazard recognition
  • Communicate safety violations, team member safety concerns and/or identified safety hazards to management



Human Capital:

  • Acts as a Management Representative during off-business hours (such as weekends and holidays) - shift rotation
  • Staffing Control: ensure the right resources are in the right place to run the operation, manage vacation leaves, job movements, to manage adequate staffing and participate in interviews



Operational Excellence:

  • Leads Tier 1 Daily Accountability process with Team Leaders
  • Facilitate the Daily Huddle Process
