The Laboratory Supervisor at Innovative Labs is a key role responsible for the success of the lab and the manufacturing of quality products. Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with all laboratory testing and sampling procedures including sample submission, microbiology, heavy metals, minerals, assays, brix, pH, viscosity, FTIR analysis, specific gravity, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries from 3rd party labs, customers, and other departments.
  • Orient and assist with training new personnel.
  • Assist with the equipment calibration program.
  • Assist with the stability testing program.
  • Prioritize lab workload to ensure all timelines are met.
  • Oversees quality, billing, and customized quotations for tests performed.
  • Ensures accurate and consistent testing procedures through the validation of all current procedures and by developing, validating, and implementing new procedures.
  • Oversees laboratory inventory, organization, cleanliness, and purchasing of consumable lab materials.
  • Reviews and signs off on other's work.
  • Reports, reviews, and approves laboratory results.
  • Perform various analyses as needed and act as a backup for laboratory positions.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Working knowledge of cGMPs, GLPs, and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
  • Advanced word processing and Excel competency.
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Understand and apply information set forth in SOP's
  • Handle confidential information
  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related science.
  • 2+ years related laboratory experience

Preferred

Full Job Description

The Laboratory Supervisor position at Innovative Labs is vital to the success of the lab as well as the overall success of manufacturing quality products at Innovative Labs. The Laboratory Supervisor will perform the flowing types of duties: microbial detection and enumeration, sample submission, sample tracking, COA reporting, communication with internal departments, 3rd party lab communication, and other general laboratory activities. The individual will become one of the technical experts on the microbial testing methodologies employed. They will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.

As the Laboratory Supervisor, you will:

Work Environment

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
