The Production Supervisor at Owens & Minor is responsible for supervising production staff within the build room/breakdown/gas injection, overseeing training of new teammates, and serving as the site leader in the absence of the Facility Manager.   • Hiring new production teammates and ensuring they receive the appropriate training for their job function.
  • Enforcing company policies and safety regulations.
  • Initiating and implementing plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Recommending measures to improve quality and suggesting changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Using Windows-based programs and retrieving and utilizing available reports related to essential job activities.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of all production positions within the facility.
  • Assisting in Payroll Approval Process.
  • Coordinating temp hours and reporting of hours to temp agencies.
  • Verification of and adherence to accomplishing daily/weekly production goals with Plant Manager.
  • Assisting in preparing operational schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Conferring with cube leads to coordinate activities in assembly.
  • Overseeing daily floor operations to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Ordering and tracking shortages for production.

Qualifications

Required

  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • At least three years of Owens & Minor experience required; for external hires at least one year supervisory experience required.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervision of production staff located within the build room/breakdown/gas injection; Serves as the site leader in the absence of the Facility Manager. In addition, this position is responsible for oversight of training of all new teammates.
