Job Description Summary Join our dynamic research team dedicated to designing and developing innovative assistive technologies for individuals with visual impairments. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to contribute to projects that enhance accessibility and improve the quality of life for visually impaired users.
Responsibilities - Assist in the design, development, and testing of new assistive technologies, such as refreshable braille displays and tactile interface devices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate user feedback and iterate on device prototypes.
- Conduct literature reviews and participate in brainstorming sessions to identify cutting-edge solutions and best practices in the field of visual impairment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including project reports and presentation materials.
- Engage with visually impaired participants during user testing sessions to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Required Qualifications - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Strong interest in assistive technology, accessibility, and inclusive design.
- Basic proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, C++) and hardware development platforms (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and research participants.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
