The Residential Manager at Vista Care oversees and is accountable for the overall operations, overall health, and performance of their assigned residential locations in partnership with the Area Director.   • Provides supervision and management for Residential Supervisors in their assigned residences ensuring the highest levels of quality care and support are provided.
  • Provides oversight, orientation for new hires and ongoing training, performance management and reviews for staff in their assigned locations.
  • Assures the physical environment of the residences is clean, safe, and maintained including the furnishings and equipment.
  • Provides and oversees complete and accurate documentation per protocols to meet local, state, and company requirements.
  • Actively participates in activities regarding quality and performance improvement.
  • Provides recommendations to leadership for operational improvements and actively problem solves.
  • Actively participates and leads employee engagement and retention activities.
  • Leads and develops all direct reports as well as participating in the development of direct care staff.
  • Ensures all staff act in accordance with Vista Care Values.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • AFH/CBRF certification preferred (WI only).
  • Completion of NADSP Frontline Supervisor Training or equivalent leadership training within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of CPI facilitator training certification within 6 months of hire (High Behavioral ONLY).
  • Completion of CPI training within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of Medication Administration training within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of Medication Administration facilitator certification within 6 months of hire (WI).
  • Ability to successfully complete all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Previous experience in residential services, supporting individuals with disabilities, customer service, or other human services fields preferred.
  • 2 years + experience as a DSP preferred.
  • 3 years + experience as a direct supervisor or manager of others preferred.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced, stressful environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally across all departments.
  • Adaptability to organizational changes and willingness to be a change agent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a caregiver background check required.
  • Proficiency with computer technology.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Residential Manager oversees and is accountable for the overall operations, overall health, and performance of their assigned residential locations in partnership and under the direction of the Area Director. Through their leadership, the Residential Manager ensures the delivery of the highest level of quality care, service and support, keeping our individuals supported in their hearts and actions always. They provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the Residential Supervisors and staff in their assigned locations ensuring staff adhere to workplace protocols and procedures.

RESPONSIBLE TO:

The Residential Manager reports to the Area Manager

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides supervision and management for Residential Supervisors in their assigned residences ensuring the highest levels of quality care and support are provided in alignment with Vista Care Values.
  • Provides oversight, orientation for new hires and ongoing training, performance management and reviews, holding team members accountable to policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations in their assigned locations.
  • Assures the physical environment of the residences is clean, safe, and maintained including the furnishings and equipment, overall housekeeping and the building grounds in partnership with the Vista Care Maintenance team and other operational leaders.
  • Provides and oversees complete and accurate documentation per protocols to meet local, state, and company requirements.
  • Actively participates in activities regarding quality and performance improvement in partnership with quality and operational leaders.
  • Provides recommendations to leadership for operational improvements, actively problem solves, makes decisions and recommendations for resolution based on Vista Care Mission, Vision, and Values, and all licensing agreements.
  • Actively participates and leads employee engagement and retention activities and monitors associated performance metrics.
  • Leads and develops all direct reports as well as participating in the development of direct care staff including the completion of annual performance reviews, provides regular routine coaching, evaluations, mentoring, corrective action, approval of time etc.
  • Ensures all staff act in accordance with Vista Care Values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College, or university degree or the equivalent is preferred. Social services or similar fields preferred.
  • However, 5 or more years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • AFH/CBRF certification preferred (WI only)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds on a routine basis to assist with individuals supported.
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach and assist individuals supported with their movements including their ability to stand up.
  • Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays including possible on-call support.
  • Required to work in residential settings.
