JOB SUMMARYThe Quality Assurance and Improvement Specialist works within thePreventive Services program and partners with the Preventive program staff,leadership team, and Resource Development team. The Specialist oversees allquality improvement, quality assurance and quality control activities for the Preventive Services department toensure compliance with city and state funder requirements. A successful person in this role will havea strong background in data management as well as program monitoring andevaluation. A commitment to immigrant, refugee and low-income communities isessential for this role.
PRIMARY DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIESQuality Assuranceand Quality ControlManageschedule of internal quality assurance and quality control activities withinthe Preventive Services standard operating procedures, including
- Conductingmonthly and quarterly internal case audits.
- Oversightof the Preventive Services data collection process
- Manageschedule of external quality assurance and quality control activities,including
- ProviderAgency Measurement System (PAMS):
- Sendout staff reminders in preparation of PAMS audits.
- Analyze and report the result ofthe bi-annual PAMS audit report to the Preventive Leadership team
- ACSScorecard Report
- Analyze and share the results withthe Preventive Services team and incorporate them into an improvement plan ifneeded.
- Provideassistance as needed with other external audits, including APA and OCFS audits.
- Maintainthe labeling and storage processes for closed case files and create annual caseclosing survey report.
- Uploadintake information and case closing information into Apricot system monthly.
- Ensureour Preventive Services team has the most up-to-date ACS and OCFSinformation/policies, communicating these policies when necessary, and beingthe go-to person to provide clarification and guidance.
- Identifyrecurring data quality and data integrity issues, and, in coordination with PreventiveLeadership, develop/enhance quality assurance processes to address theseissues.
Quality Improvement- Monitorthe effectiveness of Quality Improvement implementation, identify remaininggaps, and follow-up with relevant staff to ensure sustainable change andimprovement.
- Activelyparticipate in data analysis to identify Quality Improvement opportunities, andpresent data to programs to help staff understand and use data to improveprogram performance.
DataEvaluation- Ensuredata entry meets contractual and AAFSC program requirements.
- Demonstrateattention to detail, responsibility, and dependability in data reporting toexternal and internal database platforms.
Staff Support& Training- Provideongoing training and support to Preventive staff in quality control, qualityassurance, quality improvement, and data collection responsibilities andprocesses.
- Incollaboration with the Associate Director of Training and Development, supportthe maintenance of technical training resources and develop new materials asneeded.
BACKGROUND ANDPOSITION REQUIREMENT- Bachelor'sdegree required.
- Experienceconducting audits and providing appropriate and helpful feedback.
- Experiencewith database management, including creating reports.
- Experiencetracking and analyzing data to identify best practices and opportunities forimprovement.
- Excellentwriting and editing skills; strong verbal communication and interpersonalskills.
- Strongcomputer skills and proficiency with technology including Microsoft Excel anddatabases.
- Ableto thrive in a busy work environment, be innovative, and make decisionsindependently.
- Mustbe able to maintain client confidentiality.
