Summary

The Career Development Coordinator will play a key role in fostering strong employer relationships and creating career opportunities for CIAT students and alumni. This position will lead outreach efforts to regional, national, and global employers across various sectors to enhance recruitment and work-based learning initiatives. This role involves developing customized recruitment strategies, coordinating professional development events, and continuously analyzing employment trends to assist students in all aspects of career planning to prepare them and connect them to internship and eventual job opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead outreach efforts to regional, national, and global employers across private, non-profit, and public sectors, targeting recruitment based on market trends, student interests, and outcomes data.
  • Build and maintain employer relationships through networking, cold calls, mass mailings, and virtual engagements, while promoting high-quality internships and full-time opportunities for students.
  • Identify employer needs to recommend tailored recruitment strategies, and offer customized solutions such as internship development, project-based experience opportunities, and targeted recruitment leads.
  • Coordinate work-based learning experiences (e.g., guest speakers, mentorship, internships) to support student and alumni career development and industry skill-building.
  • Proactively develop and implement strategies to enhance student and graduate employment opportunities, managing job postings and coordinating job fairs and workshops.
  • Disseminate employment and internship opportunities to appropriate faculty, student organizations, and students, using resources such as Handshake, email, social media, etc.
  • Track and report on employment outcomes, internship placements, and employer satisfaction, regularly analyzing job market trends to align services with emerging career fields.
  • Gather feedback through surveys from students, alumni, and employers for continuous program improvement and accreditation purposes.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for the Career Development Coordinator is $27.00-$35.00/hr. However, the expected starting salary for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, experience, equity and other business and organizational needs.
