\nBASIC PURPOSE
\n
\nMechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road rescue as needed.

\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Each item should account for 10% or more)
\n
\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
\n
\nPerform preventative maintenance within company standards.
\n
\nComplete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability.
\n
\nHandle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
\n
\nKeep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
\n
\nMaintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
\n
\nMaintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
\n
\nBackup to other maintenance shop personnel.
\n
\nWillingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
\n
\nPerforms other duties as assigned.
\n

\nInternal: VP of Operations, Transportation Manager, various other USF personnel

\nExternal: Vendors, Parts and equipment delivery personnel

\nQUALIFICATIONS
\n
\nEducation/Training:
\n
\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
\n
\nRelated Experience/Requirements:
\n
\nA valid Class-A CDL license DOT certified preferred.
\n
\nMust have (7) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (5) years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.
\n
\nDiagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
\n
\nSuccessfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
\nPrior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
\n
\nMust furnish own personal hand tools.
\n
\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
\n
\nAbility to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
\n
\nAbility to read and understand technical and service manuals.
\n
\nExcellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
\n
\nAbility to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
\n
\nAbility to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
\n
\nComputer and software experience.
\n
\nAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
\n
\nMust be able to work overtime when needed
\n

\nThe following information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Pay Equity Act. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $30.00 and $38,00 USD Hourly. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
