Cobol Programmer

Description

A large client in the steel manufacturing industry is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer to provide support for the organization's manufacturing Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications and various subsystems including Production Recording, Mechanical Test Management, Unit Scheduling, Roll Management Software and Electronic Data Interchange application files.Key responsibilities of this role include problem investigation, analysis, design, testing, problem solving, programming and malfunction support. This person will need to gather requirements, create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. This individual will need to be proficient in the technologies listed in the "must haves" section" to complete the programming work as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.

Must Haves:

• 5+ years' experience in COBOL, DB2, and CICS, and JCL/JES3
• 5+ years' experience with custom development and SDLC processes
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, MS Access, Visio)
• Experience with incident tracking in change management software

Plusses:

• ADABAS/Natural for Windows Experience
• INCOM experience
• Experience in SAS, C#/VB/.NET, MS Win Servers, SSIS/SSRS, Power BI
• Working knowledge of RemedyForce service management software
• Previous project management experience
• Experience in the manufacturing industry
