LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Director of Maintenance, Engineering and Construction for a client in the Lyndhurst, NJ area. Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance operations, capital improvement projects, project forecasting, etc.
  • Oversee setup and breakdown of any equipment for events.
  • Project management, RFP/RFQ processes experience required.
  • Must be willing to work “on-call and attend all events”
  • Perform and document inspections of HVAC, lighting, elevators, fire systems and schedule/perform repairs as needed.
  • Ensure completion of tasks by overseeing directives to technicians, vendors, and supervisors.
  • Oversee annual budget, capex management, coordinating projects, initiate corrective actions, and forecast/analyze any long-term operational downtime and/or issues.
  • Ensures proper environment and continuous improvement for the educational process by determining work priorities through scheduling of repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Creation of and implementation of preventive maintenance programs by reviewing maintenance reports and statistics, review quality control reports, and inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards.
  • Develops initiatives and uses a technical approach to oversee aspects of process resolution, and continuous improvement toward improved production, production costs decrease, and reliability.
  • Oversees capital improvement and renovation projects; reviews project specifications; analyzes design, and ensure monetary goals are met by performing preliminary and final review for construction projects.
  • Identifies current and future maintenance requirements with engineers, with local/state/federal staffs, tradesmen, technicians, vendors, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
  • Manage the technical team in a manner that supports teamwork and development while providing technical leadership within any issues regarding maintenance.
  • Use safe working policies and practices consistently.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent highly preferred with an MEP focus.
  • PE CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
  • Valid driver’s license required as well as ability and willingness to obtain a Commercial Drivers License.
  • Project management, RFP/RFQ processes experience required.
  • Minimum (8) eight years of experience in a facilities maintenance management, construction management or engineering management with a primary focus in MEP.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, utilization of situational leadership, servant leadership and the creation of a vision for the department.
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends and on call as needed.
