The Maintenance Technician is a key role responsible for planning and executing preventive maintenance on all plant and building equipment to ensure efficient and productive plant operations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to plan and implement preventive maintenance programs, scheduling inspections, and major overhauls in coordination with operational activities.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of maintenance activities, including parts replacements.
  • Assist in assigning maintenance tasks to technicians, tracking progress, and ensuring work quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Inspect malfunctioning machinery to identify issues and determine necessary repairs, providing guidance on appropriate tools and methods to optimize plant performance.
  • Review technical materials and liaise with suppliers to recommend new maintenance supplies and methods that enhance plant operations.
  • Supervise maintenance work on major overhauls to ensure high standards of efficiency and workmanship.
  • Support the Chief Engineer in implementing safety procedures related to equipment use, and participate as a member of the Safety Committee to oversee daily maintenance practices for OSHA compliance.
  • Train and guide mechanics on proper maintenance techniques and procedures, ensuring compliance through regular follow-ups.
  • Manage inventory of machine parts and supplies, ensuring all are in good operating condition, and oversee abatement and control of air, noise, and other pollution in line with industry and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform additional tasks and special duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent technical training and/or education.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Previous experience supervising maintenance technicians or related staff.
  • Strong record-keeping skills with excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with superiors, co-workers, and subordinates.
