ACE is seeking experienced and motivated Superintendents to lead complex wastewater construction projects in Western New York. Qualifications

Full Job Description

ACE is adding experienced, motivated and problem-solving Superintendents to join our construction teams delivering a complex wastewater construction projects in Western New York.


This position requires great initiative, team work, as well as superb communication skills and problem solving. This is an ideal position for someone who has substantial experience in heavy construction, particularly in the wastewater industry and is interested in taking their career to the next level.


You will lead the installation of complex mechanical projects on site at water and wastewater facilities while also solving complex issues that arise with these types of projects. In addition, you will master ACE core responsibilities and assist other internal departments, producing great results that will move your career and ACE forward!


Main Responsibilities

  • Provide field supervision for the day‐to‐day operation associated with assigned construction projects

Specific Duties:


Preconstruction

  • Assist in developing construction schedule
  • Develop overall plan to construct project
  • Develop site mobilization plan
  • Know and understand all subcontractor agreements
  • Attend pre‐construction and progress meetings
  • Mobilize ACE project office


Construction

  • Assemble initial field crew for construction
  • Adjust crew sizes as needed
  • Select, expedite and manage project equipment
  • Review labor cost distribution and monitor daily unit costs of major cost categories
  • Prepare daily timesheets
  • Review weekly labor productivity reports for accuracy of labor distribution
  • Supervise incidental material purchasing and oversee material delivery and inventory

  • Inform the Project Manager when all material and equipment will be required to be delivered
  • Advise Project Manager of actual or potential work stoppages
  • Utilize short term scheduling for supervisor and subcontractor use in their daily planning
  • Maintain good working relationships with Owners, Engineers, Consultants and Subcontractors
  • Coordinate all aspects of subcontractor’s field activity. Ensure subcontractors are in good standing with all ACE policies.


Project Closeout

  • Perform testing and startup of all systems
  • Obtain final inspections and certificates and ensure that subcontractors have obtained proper certificates and final inspections for their work items
  • Prepare a completion list and perform listed items prior to punch list inspection
  • Complete punch list
  • Demobilize site facilities


Experience

  • 10 or more years of Industrial Construction project experience
  • 3 or more years of hands‐on construction Superintendent or General Supervisor experience
  • 3 or more years of water / wastewater project experience


Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Windows computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
