Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • 6 Months Nursing experience in Medical Acute Care
  • RN Registered Nursing license in California
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required before completion of orientation)
  • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test certification (required if hired after 11/15/2018)
  • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale certification (required by the end of orientation)
  • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale competency (required annually)
  • Attains 6 Trauma CEUs annually
  • TCAR – Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification program every two years (required within 1 year of hire)
  • Annual stroke care education as determined by department or Stroke Program

Job Description:

Through evidence-based practices and relevant patient care models, the nursing culture will create a compassionate healing environment, ensure interdisciplinary collaboration and foster professional growth and satisfaction. The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, American Nurses Association's (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required

Experience:

  • 6 Months Nursing - Medical Acute Care - Required

Certifications/Licensures:

  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required

  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required before completion of orientation to the assigned area.

  • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) - Required.

  • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification - Achieved by the end of orientation to the assigned area -Required

  • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Competency - Successful completion on an annual basis - Required

  • Attains 6 Trauma CEUs annually - Required

  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) – Required within 2 years of hire

  • Annual stroke care education as determined by department or Stroke Program - Required

  • CPI - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification program every two years - Required within 1 year of hire

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Work Shift:

12.0 - 19:00 - 08:00 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$74.66 - $101.72Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
