Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll team.

  • Ensure employees are paid on time and correctly.
  • Manage international third-party payroll providers.

  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit year-end payroll filings and reports.
  • Ensure databases reflect current information including salaries, hourly wages, benefits, earnings, deductions, etc.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company earnings-deductions.
  • Manage auditing and ensure all external/internal audit requirements are met.
  • Resolve payroll and benefit deduction administration queries.
  • Ensure deadlines are met while communicating with HR & Finance.
  • Work with Finance to ensure relevant items are reconciled.
  • Work with HR to ensure compensation data are up to date.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices.
  • Cultivate and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Actively participate in payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Prepare reports for Finance and HR.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
  • 8+ years payroll experience with multi-state and multi-entity payrolls.
  • Payroll team management experience.
  • Experience working with payroll providers.
  • Extensive knowledge of US Federal and State laws, taxes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software.

Preferred

  • Experience with Merger & Acquisition.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll.
  • Knowledge of Intaact, Great Plains and Netsuite Systems.
  • International payroll knowledge.

As the payroll supervisor, you will manage complete payroll cycle, taxes and benefits financial administration for the USA employee base and international payroll management. You will ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, ensuring third party benefit provider billings are reconciled and paid timeously while managing the relationship with vendors, payroll providers and Dayforce as the main payroll point of contact for all USA and international employees.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead payroll team.
  • Manage and ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of the complete payroll processes.
  • Ensuring employees are paid on time and correctly.
  • Manage international third-party payroll providers.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee files, and documents and ensure compliance with regulations including maintaining an accurate, organized, and auditable filing system.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit year-end payroll filings and reports, and other government required reporting relating to payroll.
  • Ensure databases are set up and reflect the current information, including salaries, hourly wages, benefits, earnings, deductions, etc.
  • Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company earnings-deductions.
  • Management, implementation, and execution of all payroll functions including maintaining payroll records, ensuring timely payments to all employees, reconciling all payroll records to source documents, maintaining appropriate tax and other legislative files, payroll administration of the employee benefit program, ensuring accurate and timely submission of ROEs and issuing of annual tax slips and filings.
  • Be the primary point of contact for internal-external stakeholders, Dayforce Managed Services and Tax teams.
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations.
  • Review and process expenses reports.
  • Manage auditing and ensure all external/internal audit requirements are met.
  • Resolving payroll and benefit deduction administration queries from Line Managers and Team Members.
  • Ensure deadlines are met while communicating with HR & Finance on agreed upon timetables.
  • Work with Finance team to ensure relevant items are reconciled (e.g. payroll deductions, overtime, etc.)
  • Work with HR to ensure compensation data are up to date.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Cultivate and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Actively participate in payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including testing, training, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports for Finance and HR, complying with agreed upon requirements.
