Responsibilities

  • Responsible for HVAC engineering design including calculating heating and cooling loads, select equipment, layout duct and piping, create and edit project details, and be familiar with engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for plumbing systems design including calculating capacities and loads, laying out piping systems and details, and editing project specifications.
  • Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
  • Resolve a variety of complex design challenges including conflicting Owner and project requirements, application of different system types, or challenging field conditions.
  • Research design options and document findings for the project team.
  • Assure drawings and designs are in accordance with applicable codes and design standards.
  • Coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines as applicable.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 7-15 years of consulting engineering experience with emphasis on HVAC and plumbing systems design for healthcare, laboratory, commercial, municipal, institutional and government facilities and higher education facilities
  • Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace, IES VE Title-24 2022 1.1, Energy Pro 9.3, CBECC 2022 3.1, and Microsoft Office skills required

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Knowledge in building control systems
