  • Support NPI - New product development process, including supplier earlier engagement, supplier qualification (with quality and technical team), onboarding, and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct contract negotiations and identify materials shortage and drive resolutions.
  • Process improvement- continue to identify gaps and opportunities within the supply chain team, drive business cases, seek sponsorship and drive process improvement.
  • Establish SMART Goals for the team, coach, and support commodity team members.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including other Supply Chain team members (purchasing, demand planning, inventory control), and stakeholders- engineering team, production/quality team, and program team.
  • Identification of cost-saving opportunities, track cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Hands on manager for assigned commodities.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 5 years direct experience with commodity strategy, commodity management, hands on new product development and supplier development.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience- strategy, goal setting, KPIs.
  • Strong leader who possesses ability to drive results within a cross-functional, collaborative, and fast-paced environment, manage expectations, negotiate trade off and prioritize requirements.
  • Process mapping and process improvement skills.
  • Presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand risks, expectations, and build effective relationships needed to create a disciplined development process.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements.

Preferred

  • Engineering background.

As the Director of Commodity Management, you will lead a team of commodity managers and support the development, implementation, and management of global commodity strategies and execution. This role is a critical leadership position, reporting to Senior Director, Supply Chain. This is a hands-on manager position, and up to 30% of your time and responsibilities include some specific commodity management, 70% of the role focuses on managing strategy, process and team.
