DIRECTOR OF COMMODITY MANAGEMENT

As the Director of Commodity Management, you will lead a team of commodity managers and support the development, implementation, and management of global commodity strategies and execution. This role is a critical leadership position, reporting to Senior Director, Supply Chain. This is a hands-on manager position, and up to 30% of your time and responsibilities include some specific commodity management, 70% of the role focuses on managing strategy, process and team. Key Responsibilities:Working with leadership to identify value-add KPIs, including supplier profiling and classification, supplier base optimization, new supplier strategic qualification, and supplier risk monitoring.Conduct Commodity Strategy review and update as needed with the commodity team, and collaborate with Engineering and program leadership for supplier classification.Support NPI - New product development process, including supplier earlier engagement, supplier qualification (with quality and technical team), onboarding, and risk mitigation.Conduct contract negotiations and identify materials shortage and drive resolutionsProcess improvement- continue to identify gaps and opportunities within the supply chain team, drive business cases, seek sponsorship and drive process improvement.Establish SMART Goals for the team, coach, and support commodity team membersCollaborate with cross functional teams, including other Supply Chain team members (purchasing, demand planning, inventory control), and stakeholders- engineering team, production/quality team, and program team.Identification of cost-saving opportunities, track cost savings and cost avoidance.Hands on manager for assigned commodities.Desired skills:At least 5 years direct experience with commodity strategy, commodity management, hands on new product development and supplier development. experienceAt least 3 years of people management experience- strategy, goal setting, KPIsStrong leader who possesses ability to drive results within a cross-functional, collaborative, and fast-paced environment, manage expectations, negotiate trade off and prioritize requirementsProcess mapping and process improvement skillsPresentation and communication skillsAbility to understand risks, expectations, and build effective relationships needed to create a disciplined development process Experience negotiating complex agreementsEngineering background preferred but not requiredOnsite - we value flexible working hours, however, this position is preferred to be onsite 4 days a week.
