Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Lead Buyer on medium- to large-sized Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, and Maintenance projects.
  • Critical supplier negotiations.
  • Develop and implement the overall material management plan, including workshare and automation components.
  • Drive and deliver strategies to the corporation and projects through the use of the Commercial Strategies group.
  • Negotiate and/or provide assistance in negotiation of large to complex equipment and bulk material packages.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Develop and apply the Core Skills to the job.
  • Travel to domestic and/or international locations for business-related matters.
  • Manage the execution of all procurement activities on the project in compliance with the project Baseline and procedures.
  • Interact with the Project Material Manager, Discipline Leads, and Client on a day-to-day basis to meet project procurement objectives.
  • Manage the staffing of the project's purchasing functions.
  • Identify Prime Contract flow downs for Terms and Conditions modification.
  • Prepare Performance Evaluations for all direct reports.
  • Negotiate and/or provide assistance in negotiation of large to complex equipment and bulk material packages to obtain best value for the Project.

Qualifications

Required

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
  • Twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Ability to develop and professional advancement of staff members.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Ability to adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in EPCM industry with capital projects.

  • Experience in dealing with global vendors (outside US).
