The Radiologic Technologist performs medical exams using X-rays or other diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. - Positions the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images of specific parts of the body.
- Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
- Follows correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding to ensure adherence to ensure accurate and reliable diagnostic imaging services.
- Completes required documentation for each procedure to ensure proper patient records and facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
- ARRT (R) certification
- DxBLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare
