Qualifications

Required

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or additional experience in lieu of degree
  • Based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area and available for on-site work
  • 7+ years of experience in database administration
  • Proven experience as a DB2 DBA, with expertise in managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments
  • Efficiency in DB2 utilities
  • Team player, fast learner with ability to work proactively and independently to support mission critical operations supporting geographically diverse locations

Preferred

  • Certified as an IBM Certified Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DB2 DBA to join our team. Your role will involve overseeing database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our DB2 databases.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain IBM's DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as necessary.

This position offers a flexible hybrid/telecommute schedule. The onsite and telecommute arrangement is determined by the site team and may change based on government or operational needs. Candidates should reside within a commutable distance and be able to report onsite as required by the government customer.

Project Specific Education and Experience:

• Due to contract requirements, an active Secret Clearance is required
• Bachelor’s degree: additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree
• Must be based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area and be available for on-site work as needed.
• 7+ years of experience in database administration
• Proven experience as a DB2 DBA, with expertise in managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments
• Efficiency in DB2 utilities, including but not limited to: Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, Reorg, Quiesce, Report, Modify and Restore, BMC Reorg, CA Log Analyzer, etc.
• Team player, fast learner with ability to work proactively and independently to support mission critical operations supporting geographically diverse locations
• Desired: Certified as an IBM Certified Database Administrator

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
