The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at Internal Medicine of Southwest Florida is responsible for assisting the Physician in treating patients.   • Facilitate supervising Physician referral of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, or other resources of the community or other physicians.
  • Dictate progress notes, history, and physical, and discharge summary.
  • Administer and/or order medication upon request of supervising Physician.
  • Initiate emergency measures on patients as required.
  • Perform chart review.
  • Provide in-service and daily consultation to clinical staff.
  • Initiate and monitor patients for special tests.
  • Counsel patients on preventive care.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with a supervising Physician on back-up.
  • Answer patient calls.
  • All other specific tasks delegated by supervising Physician in accordance with the Physician Assistant's knowledge and expectance developed under the supervising Physician.
  • Adhere to office policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • Hold a current license in good standing.
  • Maintain certification in accordance with Department of Regulations
  • Able to perform health care tasks efficiently and effectively consistent with patient's health and welfare.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good diagnostic capabilities
  • Graduate of an approved program or its equivalent
  • Meets the standards set by the Board of Medicine

Preferred

  • 1 year of nursing experience
  • 1 year of experience with EMR System
  • 1 year of supervising experience
  • Experience in Internal Medicine
