We are seeking a Tax Staff for a public role in Plano, Texas. Responsibilities

  • Facilitating the preparation of State and Federal Corporate, Partnership, Trust, Individual, and Payroll tax returns.
  • Ensuring accurate data input into tax software through trial balances and journal entry adjustments.
  • Collaborating with senior staff for tax return form and schedule preparation.
  • Supporting Federal and State examination engagements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Creating financial statements such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Performing compilation, review, and audit procedures during assurance engagements.
  • Managing bookkeeping and monthly close engagements, including recording receipts, disbursements, invoices, payables, and business journal entries.
  • Conducting monthly and annual business account reconciliations.
  • Processing payroll and ensuring timely tax payments for businesses.
  • Assisting in the preparation of damage reports and schedules during management advisory engagements.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in a public tax role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and familiarity with accounting functions, auditing, compliance, entity formation, financial statement preparation, QuickBooks, Lacerte Tax Software, and full-cycle accounting.
  • Track record in audits and experience with compliance regulations.
  • Ability to create and analyze financial statements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong skills in both independent work and teamwork.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Preferred CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Strong adherence to deadlines and multitasking capabilities.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

We currently have an opening for a Tax Staff - Public in Plano, Texas. This opportunity offers an engaging work environment and involves various financial responsibilities, including tax return preparation, financial statement formulation, bookkeeping, and management advisory engagements.
