Database Administrator

Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in Forth Worth, TX. This role is within the IT industry and requires an individual who can execute cloud migration projects, implement database security, and develop Power BI reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the transition of cloud migration projects from On-premise SQL Server to Azure SQL, ensuring a smooth transition with minimum downtime.

- Implement best practices for database security, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, and incorporate access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.

- Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business stakeholders' needs.

- Develop and implement custom solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.

- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean and transform data for reporting purposes.

- Conduct regular health checks, capacity planning, and upgrade/migration activities to maintain system reliability and stability.

- Innovate and implement automation solutions for routine tasks to reduce manual efforts and improve operational efficiency.

- Design, develop, and enhance ETL processes using Azure Data Factory or other tools to integrate data from diverse sources into the database seamlessly.

- Collaborate with teams to optimize and streamline data transformation pipelines.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues and provide training and support to end users on using Power BI.

Requirements - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders

- Strong documentation skills to maintain comprehensive database records

- Ability to provide training on database systems and procedures

- Understanding of compliance and regulations related to database management

- Proficiency in database management and workstation support

- Experience in auditing and troubleshooting database systems

- Knowledge of automation and optimization techniques in database management

- Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for database queries and operations

- Strong data analysis skills to interpret and utilize database information effectively

- Ability to integrate various systems with database

- Familiarity with monitoring tools for database performance tracking

- Ability to execute tasks as per specifications and resolve issues promptly

- Strong collaboration skills to work with different teams effectively

- Knowledge of best practices in database management

- Experience in performing database upgrades and maintenance tasks
