Job Description

To lead and manage the Security Engineering team in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions. This position supports the University's cybersecurity initiatives by providing technical leadership, managing key security technologies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role contributes to the department's objective by maintaining robust security measures and supporting the high quality and reliability of services offered by ITS and across the University.

Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux. Highly technical and analytical expertise, with a background in technology design, implementation, and delivery. In-depth knowledge of traditional and advanced security controls and technologies (e.g., SIEM , IDS / IPS , PKI , IDAM , antivirus, firewalls, EDR , threat intelligence platforms, security automation). Considerable expertise in incident response. Considerable expertise in log management and analysis. Excellent skills in effectively communicating business risk from cybersecurity issues. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Ruby).

Demonstrated ability to interact with technical staff, computer vendors and University community.

Extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in system and network security.

Conditions of Employment

This position is fully remote and will require participation in on-call rotations. The candidate must have high-speed and reliable internet.
